John McCain would be a scary president

Lindsay Beyerstein at Majikthise has some good posts up about John McCain.

One of John McCain’s closest advisors helped reshape finance law in a way that led to the Enron diaster and the current economic crisis.

McCain is very good at manipulating the press.

He doesn’t think there’s a constitutional right to privacy.

He finally distances himself from some crazy religious figures.

John McCain riding on the back of an elephant shooting chemotherapy at everyone, with Dick Cheney and his shotgun in a sidecar blastin’ faces.

Now, that would be a dangerous president.

If you look at the rss entry for this post, you’ve got a link to kvantservice.com, which appears to be selling computers in a foreign language, or perhaps they’re up to something worse.

I’m not sure if that’s just the weirdest bug ever or if your wordpress software has been compromised.

Thanks for the heads up, Justin. I’ve removed it, but not really sure how that happened.

Can someone really complain about McCain’s “pastor” (who isn’t even his pastor) when Obama has pastor problems up the wazoo?

  5. Mike says:

And this presumes that anyone’s pastor or religious nut advisor, in McCain’s case, shares exactly all their political beliefs, and in fact might be using some form of mind control on them.

    Sure, sounds likely to me.

What I’m more concerned with is the fact that McCain is a hypocritical rat bastard who has more flip-flops than a $2 shoe sale at Wal-Mart, supports torture even though he was tortured himself, is content to roll back the rights of women, while granting yet more rights to plutocrats and amoral corporations, and is older than the Golden Gate Bridge and about as sentient.

That makes any “pastor problems” look like porridge in comparison.

When someone who believes (and teaches) things like all Muslims should be killed or segregation should be reinstated or other pretty terrible things throws his support publicly behind a politician, it’s important for that politician to either completely renounce that figure or carefully outline what they disagree with. Otherwise, that person and his followers feel further justified in their pretty dangerous beliefs.

just quick note about the kvantservice hidden links: You are using an old version of wordpress that has significant security issues. You might want to upgrade (although the current version is still apparently hackable… )
