Journals do open access like gramma does email

An elderly relative once sent me a card in the mail letting me know that she’d sent me an email.

When we try to use a new tool without understanding the purpose of the tool, we can end up looking silly. Which is fine if you’re my Great Aunt Dorene forwarding me every email that’s ever been submitted to snopes. Not so fine if you’re a leading medical journal:

Or perhaps this is what Elsevier means when they say they want to use Mendeley “to provide greater access to a growing repository of user-generated content.”
