My last post was a bit melodramatic.  I’ve since discovered that my letter writer really did submit the letter – and prior to the deadline, too. So he’s going to get everything worked out. Whew!

In other news, I’ve started hearing back from some of the people I want to work with.  So far I’ve learned two things 1) The responses are nicer than I expected and 2) No matter how carefully I read the department/professor websites, I always miss something important.
