GRE

I’m planning on taking the general and biology GREs in a few months and plan on doing some studying this summer.  To those of you who’ve suffered through them already, what were the best study aids you found?

I think i got an old general GRE study book out of the library and did some practice questions. Can’t remember if I found such a book for the biology GRE – Just flip through a general biology textbook, and look at all of the pictures and graphs. It was kind of fun to take, minus the chain smoker sitting next to me taking the pscyh GRE… It’s broken down into different topical sections, so I didn’t worry about not doing well on the animal physiology, genetics, biochemistry, etc, that aren’t in my field of study anyways.

I didn’t study enough for the bio GRE. I suggest getting a review book with as much practice tests as possible. I also got a vocab book and would try to read from it each night (and play freerice.com)

When you sign up, ETS will send you a CD with practice questions and test on it.

My best advice is to take as many practice exams as you can, so you won’t be surprised by any of the questions. Also, definitely practice taking it at a computer.
