So I officially give up on taking a picture every single day for a year. Instead, I resolve to just take more pictures.

If you look very closely, you can see that there is a lovely mixture of sleet/rain/snow coming down today. I’d just like to point out that it’s May 22nd.
I went to get yet another cavity filled yesterday. My housemate, Jane, had an appointment just before mine, so we rode the bus there together. I know riding the bus is a mundane experience for most people, but I really enjoy it. I always feel like I’m setting off on some adventure. This distracts me from the terrible fact that I’m usually going to the dentist.
The day before yesterday I again failed at taking a picture. But I have no problems cheating. I’ll just post two from yesterday!
My dentist isn’t friendly, but he’s really quick and doesn’t skimp on the numbing. Also, he’s cheap. While half my face was paralyzed for a few hours, I didn’t feel a thing while my tooth was getting filled.
And this is a picture that was supposed to be of the moon behind some clouds, but is instead mostly a picture of the lights at Thorpe Park.
I drove down to Phoenix yesterday with a friend. The landscape is otherworldly most of the way – I’m still not used to living in a volcanic region. Even more interesting though, are the changes caused by the elevation drop – Phoenix is 6000 feet lower than Flagstaff. The flora changes dramatically. We started in ponderosa pine and aspen, dropped into the pinyon-juniper woodlands, and ended up in desert scrub.
While the elevation change induced a much worse migraine than normal, the trip was worth it. Not only did I get to see the cool flora changes, I got to see someone I’ve been missing, which was very wonderful.
But I’m still busy. So busy, in fact, that you’re going to have to wait to find out what I’ve noticed this week and what I’ve been listening to. I even missed a day of photo365, so I’m going to cheat and post two pictures taken on the same day…
Amy probably won’t like this picture of herself, but I think it looks just like her.
I also made significant progress on the introducing my friends to food-not-from-a-box front. Amy doesn’t like vegetables, but I convinced her to eat both potatoes and carrots yesterday. She still wouldn’t eat the onions, but I felt like I achieved something.
I was hoping to post pictures of the snow we got yesterday morning, but I’d forgotten to charge my camera. Here’s some cuteness instead:
Botany Club started a garden this year. It was looking great when I took this picture yesterday. But I woke up to 6 inches of snow today. Cross your fingers for the seedlings!
