The first ripe tomato
I started two tomatoes in pots earlier this year and recently moved them from my porch to my windowsill. I picked (and ate) the first ripe one the other day, but not before taking a picture of it.

One of my tomato plants finally has tomatoes. Tiny, tiny tomatoes. There is no way they are going to be ripe before the first frost. The other plant doesn’t even have tiny tomatoes yet.
The one with tomatoes blew off my porch in a storm and its stake broke. Now it’s indoors, propped against the window. Poor thing… But it does seem to be doing better than the other one. Maybe they’ll do better indoors. I don’t think they like how cold Flagstaff gets at night.

Botany Club started a garden this year. It was looking great when I took this picture yesterday. But I woke up to 6 inches of snow today. Cross your fingers for the seedlings!

A couple months ago I bought a bunch of seeds. The black eyed susan vine I got is going to bloom soon! It’s got lots and lots of flower buds. I had originally planned to grow it up my staircase, but it’s smaller than I thought it would be and prefers to twine around smaller things than my staircase railing.

I’ve got a bunch of seeds coming coming in the mail. I hope they’ll do well inside in the winter. Most of my apartment doesn’t get much sun, so I tried to get shade-tolerant plants. But I wanted something colorful, so I went for impatiens and coleus.
I also got white and yellow black eyed susan vines to grow up my staircase.

My living stones are so adorable! Though these green ones are doing something strange… They are supposed to be very short.

I think I should lay off on the recipes that require basil. My poor plant looks a bit naked.

I planted a giant pot of garlic today. The pot should be deep, the soil should be rich, and the cloves should be just below the surface. It should be ready to harvest in May or June. I hope it grows - I used bulbs I bought at the grocery store. Judging from how quickly they sprout on my counter, it should be fine.
