The dentist and my paycheck
I brush my teeth twice a day. I floss every day. I use mouthwash. I go to the dentist and get a cleaning and fluoride treatment every 6 months.
But at that cleaning, my dentist always regrets to inform me that I have more cavities. By mid-May, I will have spent almost $900 getting my teeth fixed since January. On the upside, the dentist is fixing them before they get bad and I’m rich enough now that I can have all of this paid off by June AND make rent. The downsides are 1) I have no savings and cannot buy pretty shoes/dresses/books and 2) MY TEETH ARE ROTTING OUT OF MY HEAD.
I remember reading that most tooth decay is due to genetic factors, not how well the teeth are cared for (to a certain point).
Some people just win the “good teeth lottery,” and others like us don’t.
I want to steal those genes and figure out how to toss them into my DNA.
I forget to floss some days….
I don’t have bad dentist news because I haven’t seen a dentist in a year.
